Hackers attacked the SATIE air traffic control and management centre (SATIE), which manages the flows of aircraft arriving at Geneva Airport, on Tuesday afternoon. As a result, the station experienced a temporary disruption of its operational function.
The attack on the Geneva-based unit of the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) began at around 12:40 pm on Tuesday, as a result of an action involving an internal network, local news site Le Quotidien de Genève (LQG) reported.
The station itself was not attacked, but an unspecified number of documents were removed from one of its computers, according to a statement released by the bureau.
